It’s amazing to me how quickly I’ve managed to go from ‘total sloth’ to ‘hardcore bike rider YEAH’. This week I biked to and from work every day (about a half hour each way.)
On Wednesday biked to work so early that I was the only one parked here.
These racks are actually usually pretty full.
And today I biked to work in what was practically a hurricane.
Okay, maybe not a hurricane, but I was drenched by the time I got here. This picture doesn’t even do it justice. There was a puddle on the floor around me while I took this picture. (I changed my pants and shoes when I got here, but my old Northface jacket did an awesome job of keeping my upper body totally dry. I guess $300 was worth it?)
It was actually really fun. I have to bike over this big bridge which is always very fast moving and pretty filled with traffic. The subway also runs right underneath it so it often has this wild and chaotic feeling to it. The train is loud and the traffic is loud and sometimes it feels like you're practically flying. The rain today made it even more intense and I found myself singing Moves Like Jagger at the top of my lungs. Except I only know one line so it was more like shouting OhOoohOhOoohOhOoohOh MOVES LIKE JAGGER over and over.
