Sunday is my fun day. Sounds corny but it's true. I used to hate Sundays when I was younger -- when I was a kid they were SO BORING. There was never anything on television, and it was 'cleaning day' at our house which meant my parents were always 'nagging' us to clean our rooms or do chores around the house. As I got older and started living on my own, Sundays were usually for nursing hangovers and dreading going to work the next day.
Now that I'm older, I find Sundays to be one of my favourite days. I always gets lots of stuff done around the house, but nothing is harried or frantic. It's the perfect blend of relaxing but productive. It also helps that I love my job now, so I don't get that same Sunday night sense of dread that I always used to have.
Today I cleaned the kitchen, went grocery shopping, and made another recipe from my favourite cookbook. (Today I tried "Lanky Noodle Dandy" -- not bad but not my favourite.) Tonight I'm going to do some laundry and have a glass of wine and watch a couple episodes of Leverage with Shaun. I'm also in the process of sorting through some DVDs (we're trying to move all our DVDs from cases into binders to save space), which means our living room looks like this at the moment:
Why is it that so many organizing projects have to get worse before they can get better?!
