Getting Randy With Sandy

I've been such a weird ball of nervous energy today. I'm thinking I should have made my hot tea into a hot toddy. :)

First of all -- SANDY. While we're not getting it as bad as some of our American friends, this area of Southern Ontario is predicted to be the hardest hit in Canada. 100km winds and 50mm of rain, and there's a pretty good chance we may lose power at some point. Shaun and I tried to buy "supplies" but ended up with two 500ml bottles of water, a bag of chips, and a box of Ritz Crackers. We're such yuppies. In an apocalypse, we'd be the first to go. We also have one measly flashlight and about 4 tea lights. Always be prepared, people.

Second of all -- two of my very dear friends had a BABY today!!! I've been basically glued to my cell phone all day, waiting for updates, but baby Henry was born just before 4pm. I'm so excited and can't wait to meet him. Finally I have an excuse to buy a million stuffed animals. For someone other than myself, I mean.

And last (and probably least!) -- tomorrow's my first weigh-in day! Okay, that's probably the most minor item on this list, but it's still important to me. I've had a great week, and am definitely feeling myself getting back into the swing of things. Now my only concern is that this "Sandy" person may cause my meeting to be cancelled. SANDY, WHY YOU GOTTA PLAY ME LIKE THAT?* Do not make me have to show up at the YMCA with my flashlight and reduced-sodium Ritz.

*Yes, I'm being facetious. I actually really hope everyone's keeping safe and that the loss of life and property damage is all kept to a minimum when this is all over. Batten down the hatches, my friends. Batten them down good!
