Whole30 / 2 - The First Day

Well, the consensus from yesterday's post seems to be that people are still interested in reading about my second round of the Whole30. I like the accountability of blogging through it, so I'm glad about that. I'm not sure I'll do a ton of daily food pics though -- I'm a far too repetitive (read: boring) eater for that.

Anyway, on that note, due to a totally disorganized morning, I didn't actually manage to snap ANY pictures of my food.  GREAT START.

Breakfast: Sweet potato hash with avocado, coffee
Lunch: Tuna Salad with homemade mayo, spinach, carrots, green olives
Dinner: Slowcooker chicken with broccoli slaw (tossed in garlic olive oil)
Snack: Red grapes, raw cashews

And of course, lots of water and herbal tea.



My main struggle today was wanting to feel all the benefits of eating this way NOW. Because it was still the first day, obviously none of the good stuff has actually kicked in yet, which meant I spent a lot of the day hushing the voice in my head that was saying "This sucks, it's not worrrrrrrrrrking!" 

Patience. Not my strong suit. 

To cheer myself, I picked up some flowers on my way home from work. Hello reduced-to-clear flowers.  Best thing ever. 




Another thing I did today was sign up for the Whole30 Daily emails. It costs $15, but every day I'll get an email packed with tips and motivation. I took a look at the sample email they have on the site, and it seemed pretty great.

So, here we are again. One day down, 29 to go. :)

    I have now made it through 24 hours without sugar! :-)

    1. 24 hours is awesome! Are you eating fruit or not even that?

      I believe the mug came from Anthropologie, it was a birthday gift last year. :)
